Each developed project suggests the possibility of exploring diverse construction techniques at the design level and through hands-on experience at the construction site. Solid brick, widely used in the second half of the 20th century in Ribeirão Preto, was the chosen material for this project, seeking its expressiveness and historical connection with the city.
The initial constraints for this project considered a topography that needed to be softened for accessibility, the relationship between the new building and its surroundings (a growing commercial area in the city), and the contrast of scales between the building’s function—a rotisserie—and its architecture perceived from afar, thus contributing to the construction of a new urban landscape.
The bricks, specifically the structural masonry (not coatings), alternate their patterns whenever they meet openings. Arranged vertically and plumb to construct lintels, framing windows to create drip edges, or marking the store’s main entrance. The intention is to create a perception of the constructive richness that solid ceramic brick provides.
Internally, the store—a traditional rotisserie in Ribeirão Preto—reveals a generous space: a transverse free span of 8 meters and a longitudinal span of 12 meters, alternating between circulation areas, food display counters, service areas, and checkout.
The resulting aesthetic reflects the adopted construction system: plastered and brown-painted gable walls with small openings facing west and north, and exposed brick gable walls with large openings facing east and south.
Architecture we believe in. Architecture thought out in detail, specific to its intended location. Architecture to move us.
